Beach-Friendly Snacks

Sep 22, 2023 | Beach Tips

If you’re going to the beach for the entire day, you’ll more than want to find a meal to cook on a gas grill rental from Beach Boys Cabanas that’ll be perfect for eating while you’re under your cabana rental.

However, if you’re only staying for a few hours or will be there for a lengthy amount of time where you and your kids especially may get hungry, then you’ll want to bring some snacks. But what should you pick up while you’re here? What snacks are the best for the beach?

Watermelon

If you have children, you might be thinking this is a no-go. The last thing you want is sticky hands in the sand and sweet, watermelon juice dripping all over your beach blanket.

However, you can minimize the mess by cutting them in triangles so you and your family can grab the bottom and reduce how much of the sticky portion of the fruit you touch. And you can always bring napkins or wet wipes to help with the mess.

This fruit is one of the top ones for the beach for one major reason — the fluid content! Did you know that watermelon consists of 92 percent water? That’s right, almost all the fruit is fluid, which means it can keep you hydrated as you and your family spend it in the sunshine.

Trail Mix

Trail mix dates back to the early 1900s when it was mentioned as the perfect camping snack. And it most certainly is.

With that being said, it’s also the perfect beach snack. Unlike the aforementioned watermelon, it’s not runny nor is it sticky.

You can easily eat it on the go, in your car, or on the beach and not have to worry about it making it a huge mess.

Typically, trail mix consists of the following, though you may put your own spin on this snack to make it something your family will enjoy:

  • Peanuts
  • Coated chocolate candy like M&M
  • Raisins
  • Potentially second nut like cashews

Besides being a quick snack to make and an easy one to eat, this snack contains some vital nutrients you want to have while you’re having a vigorous day at the beach, complete with bike or surfboard rental.

The protein of the nuts, for instance, helps to kickstart muscle synthesis and help with recovery.

It’s even beneficial as you’re working out.

Frozen Grapes

Grapes are known for their high antioxidant content, along with containing other vital nutrients. They also have a high water content, which is perfect for keeping you and your family hydrated.

They’re easy to eat; you can pop one after another.

Since they’re a cool treat, they can help you beat the heat on the beach.

Plus, they taste like small popsicles without all the ingredients you don’t want, such as added sugar and artificial colors and flavorings.

Granola Bars

Though you can find healthy versions, some granola bars aren’t that healthy for you. They may contain added sugar as well as artificial colors and flavors.

You can scan through the ingredients of each and find ones that are more healthy.

Granola bars are a nice beach snack because everyone in the family can grab one on the go whenever they want it. There is no prep time with this snack. However, you could make homemade granola at home before you arrive.

Another perk of this food is that it doesn’t create a mess. You can eat while still inside of its wrapper.
